First They Kill You

Stem-Cell Replacement: A Love Story

Sure you can read my medical memoir “First They Kill You” by scrolling down this page, but now you can also see it in book form, the way God intended it. It’s the story of my long duel with blood cancers and the ultimate (so far) triumph through the miracle of stem cell replacement. The book’s got pain, suffering, humor, vivid nightmares, helpful hallucinations and lots of different people being brilliant and wonderful. What I thought might be a terrifying memoir turned out to be a love story. How? See for yourself! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FY51DQNV?ref=author_qv_ov_prnt_dp_rw

  1. Thank you, Mr. Monagan, for your wonderful books, Carrie Welton and The Easter Confession. I loved immersing myself in them. I was born and raised in Waterbury and Wolcott.
I always wondered about the horse fountain on the Green! There are so many other little tidbits and memories you stirred up in my mind and heart!
I was particularly interested and concerned for you in your cancer journey. Last I read you are doing well? God bless you! I’m a now retired nurse, having spent my last 10 years in Hematology-Oncology. Husband also dealing with the ups and downs of cancer since 2016. Living in Michigan for the last 46+ years but Connecticut will always be home in my heart.
Thank you for your wonderful writing and sharing your heart with us! You have been a blessing to me!
    Lydia
